How long does a full home renovation take in Melbourne?

Most full home renovations run between nine and fourteen months on site once design and approvals are complete. Heritage homes and structural extensions tend to sit at the longer end of that range. We'll give you a realistic program upfront so you can plan your life around it, not the other way around.
Will I be able to live in the house during the renovation?

For partial renovations it's sometimes possible, depending on the scope and how the staging is structured. For full home renovations or major structural extensions, we'd generally recommend moving out for the duration. It's not just about dust and noise, it's about keeping the program moving efficiently and keeping your family safe. We'll help you think through the accommodation side as part of the planning process.
What level of investment do you typically work with on renovations?

Renovation scope varies enormously, from full home transformations to structural extensions and heritage reworks, and investment ranges accordingly. In our first conversation we'll give you an honest picture of what's realistic for the work you're describing. We'd rather have that conversation early than have anyone's time wasted.
Do you do heritage and period home renovations?

Very much so. We've worked on Victorian, Edwardian and mid-century homes across Melbourne's inner and eastern suburbs, and we genuinely enjoy the craft of it. Getting the balance right between original character and contemporary living takes experience and a careful eye, and it's something the Demardi team takes a lot of pride in.
